Day 2

After breakfast Mike and I travels down the road to the LBJ Ranch. It is easy to understand why the ranch became the White House of the West.  The area is beautiful and so peaceful. Any one could reenergize themselves with a visit.  On the site is the house that LBJ was born in, the school he attended and the Texas White House.

The house where LBJ was born.
The one room school house where he attended school.

FINALLY!!!! Each day I planned to blog about our adventure.  I was either too tired after our daily trek or bad wifi. Today is day nine of the adventure.  I'll give you a quick synopsis and you will be caught up.

DAY 1 Thursday, March 27
My friend, Pam came to pick me up at 5:15 a.m. with breakfast in hand.  I was packed and ready to go when she arrived. Unfortunately  I could not find the keys to my house and I spent 10 minutes looking for them.  I finally used a key I had just had made but it did not work very well. Finally I got it to work and we were off to the airport.

The flight from KC was bumpy. The pilot apologized over the loud speaker for the lack of service on the flight.  It was too turbulent for the flight attendants to walk in the cabin.  It was a short flight and it was soon over.  The flight to San Antonio arrived an hour and a half late.  We circled for about an hour before we desended to land.  Unfortunately the landing was aborted and we went back up and circled again. We landed safe and sound...eventually.

My friend, Mike was at the airport to pick me up and we traveled to Fredericksberg.  Mike is a camp worker for Jellystone RV Park and has a new job in Gold Beach Oregon. He wanted some one to travel with him on his trip to his new location.  I have always dreamed of living  the nomad's life and have been looking for a vintage "tin can" travel trailer.  This trip would make or break my desire to go on the road.  I said yes to the offer...... so here I am.

We first went to the RV park where he was working and settled in a bit.  It is a family RV park with Hanna Barbera cartoon characters.

We went into Fredericksburg for dinner. It is a charming German town in the Texas Hill Country.  But it soon became apparent to me that I was actually in TEXAS.
